Series The composition of the flower field Tenhui began to participate in the project from the stage of project planning, and contributed to the construction of the story. How is he close to the character’s heart and write the script for this work? .
When the production of the previous work “No Game, No Life”, which was co-operated with Shibuya Tatsuko (いしづかあつこ), came to an end, Kadokawa’s producer Tian Zhongxiang sent an invitation to Huatian: “Next, Do you want to make an original animation with Shijie Supervisor?”
At this point in time, the project has established the core elements such as “the protagonist is a girl” and “joining a little sci-fi element”, but the content of the work is still erratic. Hanada and Tanaka P and Ishigaki Supervisor made several sci-fi plans together and scrutinized the content. .
Among these plans, one has time to cross the subject, and Huatian has written about 3 episodes of scripts. However, at this time, Shi Yan supervision said: “Since we are doing original works, if Hua Tian teacher can’t write it, it doesn’t make sense.” Hua Tian listened, such as 醍醐: This script, myself It’s not fun to write. .
Time-traversing scripts must first determine the frame and ending of the entire story, and then fill in the events from start to finish, just like a jigsaw puzzle. Huatian realized that at the time, he did not feel the fun of writing scripts according to the design drawings. It is rare to write an original work. Instead of writing it, he would like to think that each episode of each episode is like opening up an unknown field. Thinking about “When you finish writing this episode, what story will you write next?” .
So, the plan returned to a state of white paper, and they began to think about the topic again. .
Three people repeatedly proposed the plan and repeatedly vetoed it. Just when making the theatrical version of “No Game, No Life: Zero”, Ishigaki supervised: “I want to paint the Antarctic and want to draw aurora in the animation.”
Travel film has always been one of the themes that Huatian wanted to write. He immediately responded: “That, I want to write the protagonist all the way to the South Pole, and finally see the story of Aurora.” The girl is the protagonist, from the beginning of the project. Booked, therefore, Huatian wanted to write a work that the girl took to the journey and gave the audience a strong sense of accomplishment when she arrived at the destination. He had long wanted to write a road film. I believe this story can be written. .
The story is there, and the next step is to identify the character. .
In the beginning, the protagonist of Huatian’s conception was “the mother is the missing Antarctic expedition team, and she wants to go to the Antarctic girl anyway” – that is, the current Xiaoyuanze newspaper. The role of this character was originally a lively and cheerful girl, but let the protagonist bear the “mother missing” setting, which is a bit heavy. What he wants to write is clearly the story of the girl’s jealousy and friendship. Such a heavy setting will drag the story, and the main line will inevitably become a story of the newspaper and the mother. Therefore, Huatian wanted to withdraw the proposal himself. .
Just then, Ishigaki supervision stopped him. Shi Yan supervision said: “The role itself is not a problem. For example, if you put such a character in the side of the protagonist, it will be very attractive.” So, they decided to keep the setting of the newspaper and create a new protagonist. .
This new protagonist is a small decision. In fact, the small decision was originally the protagonist of the sci-fi plan that was rejected by the semi-central, but because the character was very interesting, she was allowed to re-appear in this work. .
In the design of the small decision, Huatian intends to let her slightly deviate from the actual route, and write her as a somewhat “floating” pistachio character. On the other hand, her relationship with her friend Gao Qiaohui is subtly realistic.
Looking back at “Farther than the Universe,” this animation has been floating on the boundaries of reality and fantasy. In reality, there is an Antarctic expedition team, but the folk scientific research team described in the film does not exist. To further say, high school girls participate in the story of the Antarctic expedition team, and it is hard to happen in reality. Including this setting, the work consciously blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. .
And the setting of the protagonist’s squad also includes this feature of the work. She is like “glue”, cleverly embracing the heavy background and troublesome character of the original master’s bulletin, connecting her with the world of works. It’s not just newspapers, but the background of the high school and the loneliness of the moon are actually quite heavy. And in these role centers with various problems, they are all inclusive with a warm atmosphere. .
Especially in the fourth episode, everyone accepted the training session to the South Pole, the presence of the small decision is very obvious. In this sense, it can be asserted that if there is no small decision to be the protagonist, the work “A place farther from the universe” will not be established. .
Both small and newspapers have a strong personality, and the role of the third major character, Miyake, cannot be lost to both of them. Therefore, the creative team is intentionally different from the first two roles when designing the day. The mental age of the Japanese is slightly larger than the small decision and the newspaper, and you can make jokes intentionally. However, just writing it like this will be convincing, and Huatian wants a reason why her heart is so mature. Therefore, he added the setting of “not a high school child” that he always wanted to write. Hanada also proposed this setting in an idol animation, but it was rejected. This time it was realized. .
“Not in high school” this setting makes it easy to make the story heavy. Many people feel that “not going to school” = “weak in society”. However, Huatian himself does not think so at all. There is a lot of people who can work hard on other roads even if they are out of school. Hanada is convinced that this setting will resonate with the audience. .
Regarding the fourth main character, Huatian wanted to arrange a character like “Everybody’s sister” and let the little ones love, and wrote a relatively small white stone moon. Because the background of the newspaper and the Japanese are relatively heavy, he wants to add a little fantasies to the moon, neutralize the atmosphere, and set her into a popular artist. .
Initially, Hanada wanted to let the moon sing and dance on the road, depicting the moon as the idol side. However, written and written, he felt that he had fully shaped his own charm of the moon, and decided not to turn the story to the direction of the idol. If you emphasize this too much, the work may derail the route to the animation. .
The policy of Shiji supervision is very clear, “do not make a cute film.” Therefore, in “A place farther from the universe”, Huatian wants to retain the advantages of “Meng Animation”, such as focusing on characters, focusing on interesting communication between characters, and at the same time bringing viewers into categories that cannot be classified as “ The feeling of Meng animation. Although he did not explicitly say this with Shi Jian, but I feel that the two have already had a heart and soul, and they will not pass. .
Regarding the composition of the work, as an animation of “Girls Going to the South Pole”, the progress of the protagonist arriving at the Antarctic is relatively slow. At the meeting, some people also said that they would let the protagonists reach the Antarctic in the third episode and focus on their special life in the Antarctic. Huatian thinks that what the other party wants is probably the “Antarctic version of “White Box”” that describes the work of girls in a special workplace. .
However, the more the main team is investigating the Antarctic Observatory, the more they feel that they need professional knowledge to do this job, not for high school girls. Therefore, Huatian responded: If you want to describe the Antarctic expedition team in detail, then either set the protagonist as a social person or set the expedition team members as high school girls. Otherwise, it will not be convincing for high school girls to work in the center of the expedition team. It is too difficult to write a high school girl to work in the Antarctic expedition team in a realistic framework. .
Some people also put forward more extreme opinions, saying that they should not let the heroes take the Antarctic scientific research ship, let them start from Argentina, try their best to transfer to various ships, and finally arrive at the South Pole.
In the end, although the animation chose the current route, Hanada also racked his brains to write about the relationship between them and the adults in the expedition team. Although the main axis of “A place farther from the universe” is a journey to the South Pole, the most important thing is “the story of their growth and friendship through the journey.” Therefore, what must be written in the film must be only the “big eyes of the Antarctic expedition team in their eyes, the life on board, and what they have seen in the Antarctic continent.” It is impossible to destroy the world that only belonged to them in the first six episodes of the works because the adults appeared on the scene. He paid great attention to this and didn’t waver until the end. .
When describing the expedition team members, Huatian emphasizes that they are strong and strong, and can do difficult work efficiently. The main creative team once took the materials from the actual expedition team members and listened to them about the voyage to the Antarctic, the anecdote at the base, and the content of the work. At that time, Huatian felt that these people were stronger than their own imagination. Therefore, when he was standing in the perspective of the small players, he also focused on restoring his impression. .
At the same time, the Antarctic expedition team must work together for a long time in a harsh environment. Huatian believes that even if the other party is a high school girl, since the same team, the other players should treat her as the same comrade. The same is true from the perspective of the younger judges. They should not want to be considered as children by the expedition team members, but they want to be treated as a member of the expedition team. Plus, for the audience, the latter is more worth seeing. Therefore, in the seventh episode, Hanada let the former Chuanxiang Miao clearly stated this. .

“The place farther than the universe” The core of the plot is “How to accept the mother’s death”. In the early days of production, it was decided to “report the mother’s computer and receive countless emails sent to her mother.” However, when writing the script for episode 9, the first sentence of the newspaper that took the first step to the Antarctic would be “live”, almost he wrote it unconsciously. .
Hua Tian thinks that the newspaper that has always wanted to go to the South Pole should say “live” to all those who have looked down on her before. However, after reading back later, he felt that it was wrong: how was the report to the mother’s heart? Why did it not be a mother when she realized the goal of going to Antarctica? .
Hanada himself feels strange, and when he thinks about it, the feelings in the monologue of the 12th episode of the beginning of the episode become clear. It is impossible for the newspaper to accept the death of the mother only because she arrived in the South Pole. If you are reporting, you must be like this. She is dreaming that her mother has not returned, and she has not woken up. Although it has been so many years, this dream has continued. This feeling is impossible to say just because she went to the South Pole and disappeared. Therefore, it is necessary to let the newspapers see the mail. Hanada is convinced that there is nothing wrong with writing this. .
Hua Tian does not choose a line for the advancement of the plot, but designs lines based on what the character thinks. At the script meeting, whenever he had nothing to do, Shijie supervision always said: “Let’s ask the character.” This sentence penetrated into the heart of Huatian. Whether he or Shi Ji supervision, rather than writing his own ideas in his works, more is the idea of “want to watch these children.” As long as you can watch their journey and see how happy they are, it will suffice. .
The final episode, Xiaohui went to the North Pole, is also the result of Huatian close to the character’s heart. The reason why the decision decided to go to the South Pole was because she wanted to become a true friend with Xiaohui. So, what kind of ending should be arranged for the relationship between the two people? Considering Xiaohui’s character, she should not say “welcome back” to the small decision that came back from Antarctica. How do you let her accept the feeling of a small decision and wait for a small decision to go to the South Pole? Hua Tian felt that she could only go to the North Pole. Moreover, this is also the most consistent approach to Xiaohui personality. .
When Hua Tian wrote Xiaohui to the small haircut from the Antarctic to return home, the message “I am sorry! I am in the Arctic”, my eyes are wet. He later heard that “the Antarctic can see the Arctic when it sees the Aurora.” I think this is really wonderful. Xiaojue and Xiaohui looked at the same aurora at the extremes of the Antarctic and the Arctic, and the Earth.
When asked about the most favorite scene in the work, Huatian replied that there are many scenes, and the films are better than he imagined. Especially at the end of the 12th episode, the Antarctic sunset scene left a deep impression on him. He mentioned the beginning of the Antarctic scene in the script, but the last scene was not specified. He was deeply touched when he saw the actual finished picture. .
In addition, the second episode in Kabukicho is based on Huatian’s own personal experience. On March 31, 1987, the last day of the operation of the Japanese state-run railway, the “Xie En Free Ticket” was issued, which allowed you to take the free seat of all trains on the national railway line on that day. He used this ticket to travel to Tokyo from his hometown of Sendai with his ticket, and went to Kabukicho. He didn’t know why he had offended the terrible person and was chased. Although he felt very scared at the time, but now, it is also a page in his youth. The small-scale decision to be chased by them was very good, and Huatian’s heart was filled with thanks to the production team. .
Reviewing “A place farther from the universe” Since the establishment of the project, Huatian has deep feelings for each character in the work. If you have to say one of his most emotional roles, you should report it. When he graduated from college, he did not go to work at all. Instead, he set a plan for himself: by depositing a deposit of 1 million yen and then becoming a scripter. He made up his mind that if the 1 million yen was spent, his dream of a scripter would stop here. Therefore, he also shared a report of 1 million yen for his own purposes, which made him feel the same. .
“The place farther from the universe” has a lot of plots, all from Huatian’s own experience. This is not what he intended to do when he wrote the script. Instead, he waited until the broadcast and then looked back, only to realize: “Speaking, this is my own personal experience.” He originally tried not to work. Reflecting yourself, but perhaps in order to do all the scripting, it is bound to join the experience. In this sense, it can also be said that while he was writing a script, he also went to the South Pole with the younger.
